Microcement Application Instructions
Our microcement system is easy to apply by following these instructions:
Surface Preparation
For tiles: If applying microcement directly over tiles, use AQUA OTEKS Primer to ensure proper adhesion.
For other surfaces: If not covering tiles, you can proceed directly with the first layer – PRIMER Q.
Base Layer Application (BASE MICROCEMENT) – 0.9–1.1 kg/m²
Mixing and application: BASE MICROCEMENT is the base layer and is typically not tinted. Apply it in one coat using a Venetian stainless steel trowel or spatula.
Sanding: If creating coatings, after the base layer has dried, sand it with P40-P60 grit sandpaper.
Finish Layer Application (FINISH MICROCEMENT) – 0.9–1.1 kg/m²
First coat: After the base layer has dried, apply FINISH MICROCEMENT in two coats. The finish layer should be smooth and can be tinted to your desired color.
Drying time: Allow one day drying time between each microcement coat.
Finish Layer Sanding
Once FINISH MICROCEMENT has dried, carefully sand it with P240-P320 grit sandpaper to ensure a smooth and even surface.
Topcoat Application (PU 2K VARNISH) – 7–8 m²/l
Topcoat application: For optimal protection and durability, apply PU 2K VARNISH in 2–3 thin coats.
Sanding between coats: For a smooth finish, use fine-grit sandpaper between each coat.
For bathrooms: In bathrooms, be sure to apply 3 coats of PU 2K VARNISH for additional moisture protection.
By following these steps, you will achieve a beautiful and durable microcement finish for your surfaces.
