Application Instructions

Important!

• To avoid visible joints, work on large areas in one pass and use material from the same batch.
• If you have received material of the same color from different batches, be sure to mix them together before application to ensure color consistency.
• During application, protect from direct sunlight. Protect the finished coating from moisture for 3 days after application.
• Before application, gently mix with a mixer at low speed until homogeneous consistency.
• Always do a test coating on a small area to verify the shade and compatibility with the substrate.

Surface preparation:

1. Before applying VELOUR, the surface must be primed with Primer T primer, which ensures the adhesion of the decorative coating to the substrate and a uniform final result.
2. For unstable, crumbling surfaces: before applying Primer T, the surface must first be treated with a deep penetration primer to strengthen the substrate. After the deep primer has dried, apply Primer T.
3. Apply Primer T with a roller in an even coat.
4. Ensure that the Primer T coat is completely dry (approx. 4-6 hours) before applying VELOUR.
5. The substrate must be firm, dry, clean, even, load-bearing and free of substances that prevent adhesion (fats, oils, resins, dust, etc.), as well as free of chips, holes or cracks.

VELOUR application

Suede fabric effect with brush:

• Apply the first layer of VELOUR with a brush in short cross strokes in different directions, covering the surface.
• Immediately after applying VELOUR in sections of about 1 m², return to the covered surface and treat it with a clean brush (without paint), smoothing VELOUR with strokes in different directions to manifest the suede effect.
• After the first layer has dried (6-8 hours), apply the second layer with the same technique as the first.
• To achieve the suede effect, if necessary, you can dilute VELOUR with water by up to 10%.

Nubuck or suede effect with trowel:

• Use a special Venetian stainless steel trowel with rounded corners and a sharpened base.
• Apply the first layer covering the entire surface in the classical (Venetian) technique. Drying time: 6-8 hours.
• Apply a second layer of the same thickness as the previous one in the classical technique, immediately forming the fabric texture. Drying time: 6-8 hours.

Suede effect with sponge:

• Apply the first layer with a sponge (in circular motions), distributing the material evenly. Drying time: 6-8 hours.
• Apply the second layer with a sponge in circular motions, evenly distributing the material over the surface. Try not to apply strong pressure to create a denser coverage. Drying time: 6-8 hours.

Linen fabric effect with roller:

• Apply the material with a short-pile roller, rolling unidirectionally on the surface.
• Every 1-2 m², immediately after applying with a roller, formulate a texture of vertically directed stripes with a clean, wide brush.
• After the first layer has dried (6-8 hours), apply a second layer using the same technique as for the first layer. On the second layer, form the stripe texture perpendicular to the first – horizontally.
• To obtain this effect, if necessary, VELOUR can be diluted with water by up to 10%.

Drying: Full drying: 5 days. Protect from moisture for 3 days after application.
