PU 2K VARNISH

Two-component polyurethane protective varnish for microcement system

PU 2K VARNISH is a professional microcement system protective topcoat designed to seal and protect microcement surfaces. Thanks to its two-component, water-based polyurethane formulation, it provides exceptional durability, water resistance, and a sophisticated satin matte finish on floors, walls, and furniture. It is the essential final layer that ensures the longevity and performance of the entire microcement system.

Create a healthy, environmentally friendly home with this 100% eco-friendly protective varnish. Free from harmful emissions, with a natural composition and high flexibility – ideally suited for use in bathrooms, kitchens, and other high-traffic areas. The varnish is non-slip, UV resistant, and vapor permeable, maintaining both safety and the aesthetic appearance of the microcement.

The product is water-based, easy to apply, and has low odor during application and drying. Manufactured in Northern Europe, it meets the highest European Union standards and guarantees excellent indoor air quality (A+). Must be applied in 3 coats.

PRIMER Q
Ready-to-use base coat primer with excellent whiteness and coverage. Suitable for all absorbent surfaces. Tintable.

BASE MICROCEMENT
Ready-to-use base coating with a fine, marble-like texture (0.5 mm grain). Serves as a textured foundation for FINISH MICROCEMENT application. Can also be used as a finishing layer to achieve a slightly rougher surface. Tintable.

FINISH MICROCEMENT
Finishing layer with ultra-fine particle structure (0.2 mm), creating a minimalist, smooth concrete look. Tintable.

Important!

⚠️ PU 2K VARNISH is the protective topcoat of the microcement system. It is the MANDATORY final layer – without it, the microcement coating is not durable enough for use.

⚠️ Must be applied in 3 coats to achieve full protection and durability.

⚠️ Mix only the amount that can be used within 2 hours.

⚠️ Ensure adequate ventilation during application.

⚠️ Avoid application at temperatures below +5°C or above +25°C.

⚠️ Full technical properties are achieved 7 days after the final varnish coat has dried.

 

APPLICATION

1. Component Preparation

PU 2K VARNISH is a two-component system:

  • Part A – base (100%)
  • Part B – hardener (10–11% of Part A weight)

Mixing ratio: A : B = 100 : 10 (maximum 11)

Example: Add 100–110 g of Part B to 1 kg of Part A.

Mixing:

  • Add all of Part B to Part A
  • Mix with a slow-speed electric mixer (300–400 rpm) for at least 3 minutes
  • Pour the mixture into a clean container and mix again
  • After mixing, the varnish becomes active
  • Pot life: approximately 2 hours

Important! Mix only as much as you can use within 2 hours.

2. Surface Preparation

Before applying the varnish, ensure the surface is:

  • Firm, stable, and load-bearing
  • Completely dry
  • Free from dust, grease, oil, and other contaminants
  • Applied on fully dried FINISH MICROCEMENT (at least 24 hours after the last coat)
  • Sanded and cleaned from dust

3. Application

Tools:

  • 25–50 cm roller (epoxy or varnish roller)
  • Brush for hard-to-reach areas

Application technique:

  1. Apply material generously to the surface
  2. Use a 25 cm roller to spread evenly, working crosswise
  3. Roll again with a 25–50 cm roller saturated with material
  4. Work wet-on-wet
  5. Change rollers every 30 minutes
  6. Avoid forming pools

Number of coats:

  • Apply 3 coats
  • Coverage: 80–100 g/m² per coat

4. Drying

Recommendations:

  • Ensure good ventilation during drying
  • Avoid moisture and dust on fresh varnish

5. Tool Cleaning

  • Clean tools with water immediately after use
  • Hardened material is very difficult to remove
  • Follow local regulations for waste disposal

6. Environmental Conditions

Suitable application temperature: +5°C to +25°C

Avoid:

  • Application below +5°C
  • Application above +25°C
  • Direct sunlight during application
  • Application on dark substrates exceeding +20°C (for the first coat, add up to 10% water)

7. Important Notes

⚠️ PU 2K VARNISH is the mandatory final layer in the microcement system. Without it, the coating is not durable enough for use.

⚠️ Apply 3 coats – only then full protection and durability is achieved.

⚠️ After mixing, the varnish can only be used for 2 hours – do not store already mixed material.

⚠️ Ensure adequate ventilation during application.

⚠️ Keep out of reach of children. May produce an allergic reaction. Wear protective gloves.

⚠️ Do not pour remainings down the drain – dispose of according to local regulations.
